Belizean Embassy, Rome, Italy
Karla, the founder of Savoir Faire Event Planning, was crowned Miss Belize International in 2000. This role also led to a fortunate alliance with the Consulate of Belize in Los Angeles. Upon the conclusion of her reign, she continued to volunteer and assist the Belizean Embassy with organizing and planning diplomatic and charitable events. Over a span of six years, she coordinated an array of festivals, galas, dances, telethons, drives and banquets. She met with diplomats, foreign leaders, cultural attaché and even royalty. Volunteering for the consulate enabled her to attend school full-time while gaining professional career experience in sociology and diplomatic public relations.
Karla went on to become a bona fide Sociologist, graduating with honors and the Consul General was so pleased with her dedication and altruism to volunteering that he gave her the title «Liaison Officer» for the Belizean Embassy.
